Overview

Ronan is counsel in our Litigation, Insolvency & Restructuring Department in the Cayman Islands office. He specialises in insolvency, restructuring, commercial litigation and section 238 ‘fair value’ appraisal proceedings.

Ronan regularly advises shareholders, insolvency practitioners, financial institutions and private individuals in a wide variety of cross-border proceedings and has experience advising clients in relation to insolvency matters including liquidations, receiverships, restructuring and enforcement options.

  • Representing dissenting shareholders in numerous appraisal actions brought pursuant to s.238 of the Cayman Islands Companies Act following take-private transactions, including 58.com, Sina Corporation and 51job, Inc.
  • Acting for the joint official liquidators of international investment manager in respect of investigations into large scale fraud, asset recovery and the control of subsidiaries.
  • Advising financial institutions and private equity funds in relation to debt recovery and enforcement options in the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and the Irish High Court.
  • Acting for the primary stakeholder in an application to sanction a complex scheme of arrangement implementing a significant cross border restructuring.
