Campbells Welcomes New Articled Clerk Amandy Jimenez

Campbells is pleased to welcome Ms Amandy Jimenez to our Articled Clerk training programme this September. Ms Jimenez is a graduate of the University of Birmingham, England, where she was awarded an LLB with Honours. She also gained her PPC from Oxford Brookes University (administered by Truman Bodden Law School) with a Commendation. She chose to pursue a career in law as she enjoys the dynamic legal industry where she can tackle new challenges and navigate an ever-evolving legal system.

When asked about her experience so far at Campbells, Ms Jimenez said, “Working at Campbells has been a very beneficial and insightful experience for me. I have been included in various networking events and workshops that provided useful skills and knowledge which I was able to apply, not only towards my professional development, but also in my academic studies. I felt supported and encouraged throughout my employment, and I am very pleased to have secured a training contract with Campbells.”

Campbells is proud to support Caymanians pursuing the study and practice of law and, in addition to offering a comprehensive Articled Clerk Training Programme, the Firm also sponsors the St Ignatius A-Level law programme and offers summer internship placements to aspiring lawyers. Campbells’ 18-month Articled Clerk Training Programme consists of carefully monitored rotations between different practice areas and ensures recipients receive active mentorship and a wide breadth of experience across all departments.

“We are very pleased to welcome Amandy to the team. Identifying bright young talent for our programme is very important to the Firm. We look forward to seeing her grow and develop through the programme and enjoy a rewarding career in law,” says Campbells partner, Mark Goodman.

About Our Articled Clerk Programme

The Campbells Articled Clerk Training Programme offers legal and professional development to qualifying Caymanians wishing to further their career in law. It provides students with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge by working with experienced attorneys and participate in a leading professional programme.

Articling Rotation

Articled clerks are expected to complete four “seats” in different practice areas with each rotation being three to six months in duration. The successful candidate will be expected to complete a minimum of one corporate and one litigation focused rotation.

Mentoring

During each seat, the articling clerk is assigned a mentor or principal whose role it is to ensure that the articling clerk receives relevant work experience. The mentor will ensure that the successful articling clerk will receive ongoing feedback on their work. There are also regularly scheduled meetings with the articling clerk to discuss their professional development and provide an opportunity for them to give feedback.
