Campbells is pleased to announce that Shaun Folpp has joined its Litigation, Restructuring and Insolvency Group in Hong Kong. He will also serve as the Hong Kong office Managing Partner.
Shaun brings a wealth of expertise to the firm. He has extensive experience in complex, high value, cross-border disputes and proceedings acting both for and against insolvency practitioners in all forms of external administrations, as well as acting for parties involved in general commercial, financial services and trust disputes. He also has considerable experience advising on corporate governance matters, including matters related to directors’ duties.
Prior to joining Campbells, Shaun led the Litigation, Restructuring and Insolvency practice for another offshore law firm in Hong Kong and has an in-depth knowledge of the Asian market. Before relocating to Hong Kong, Shaun spent the better part of ten years practising in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands and was in Brisbane and London before that.

Shaun has acted for or against liquidators in many of the largest liquidations to come before the British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands courts in recent history. Since 2009 Shaun has acted for the liquidators of Weavering Macro Fixed Income Fund, including appearing in relation to the proceedings brought against the fund’s directors for breach of duty. He also acted on behalf of China Fishery Group Limited, as well as on behalf of Natural Dairy (NZ) Holdings. He has also had key mandates in XiO Group and China Shanshui Cement Group Limited, and has been involved in many s.238 fair value disputes..
