Campbells is pleased to announce that Matteo Polloni has been awarded our undergraduate legal scholarship for 2017/18. “Matteo exemplifies the qualities we look for when considering scholarship candidates and we are proud to support him in his educational endeavours,” said Nicole D’Heer Watson, Head of Marketing.
Mr. Polloni is entering his first year at the University of Leicester to study Environmental Law. He states his main driving force in pursuing law was the people he was surrounded by growing up. His family and friends are lawyers and his passion for the ocean and desire to protect it was the deciding factor in going into this sector. He also notes inspiration and support from his Uncle and Aunt who helped him throughout his A-Level studies and with applying to universities.
“I would like to thank Campbells for the opportunity the firm is giving me with this scholarship, which will help me begin one of the most important chapters of my life. I am extraordinarily grateful and look forward to representing Campbells at university and promise to make the firm and my family extremely proud,” said Mr. Polloni.
After interning with local Law firms he was able to receive a first-hand account of day-to-day operations and learn invaluable experience which led to his final decision to apply to law school. After completing his degree Mr.Polloni plans to return to Campbells and Cayman to implement his degree.
“We are very pleased to award Matteo with this Scholarship as he is a very deserving and hardworking young man. He has a bright future ahead of him and we are proud to be able to help him achieve his goals. We look forward to having Matteo back after the completion of his studies to apply his new-found skills in the Cayman Islands,” says Alistair Walters, Partner.
