Campbells is pleased to announce that Danté Frett has been awarded our British Virgin Islands undergraduate scholarship for 2018.
Danté is an ambitious student who will be journeying to England in the autumn to attend University College London (UCL) to pursue a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science. He will be majoring in molecular and cell biology and minoring in organic chemistry. Danté then plans to use this degree to pursue a career in public health, research and education back in the British Virgin Islands. In addition to having excellent grades, Danté is a very well-rounded individual who is actively involved in several programs and extracurricular activities such as the Caribbean Youth Science Forum, Rotary International Model UN Debate Team and student council Vice President of the Naparima College Environmental Club.
“I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Campbells for awarding me this year’s scholarship. I am grateful not only for the financial assistance provided to fund my tertiary academic endeavours but also for the continuous support that will be reinforced through Campbells’ summer internship programme,” said Danté Frett. He adds: “Campbells is one of a few, if not the only, local private organisations that provides this opportunity to BVIslanders regardless of their intended field of study, and their investment in developing the BVI is commendable.”
“It’s an honour to support this promising young local student with this year’s 2018 scholarship,” said Mo Haque QC, Partner in the firm’s BVI office. “Danté’s solid academic achievements and goal orientated attitude are what we look for in a scholarship recipient and we are proud to support him in his educational endeavours.”
Danté Frett is the second recipient of the Campbells BVI Scholarship, which launched in 2016. The scholarship is available to BVIslanders and applications are accepted for both legal and non-legal undergraduate degree programmes, with preference given to applicants pursuing law.
