Campbells is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, audits, and controls for its Cayman and BVI corporate services businesses. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and a proactive approach to process improvement and financial strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Finance and the boards of Campbells’ Cayman and BVI corporate services businesses, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the preparation of monthly and yearly closings for the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands corporate services businesses, consolidated financial statements and financial reporting;
- Coordinating external audits and regulatory filings including the preparation of supporting schedules and being the primary point of contact with external auditors and advisors;
- Developing, improving and enforcing financial and accounting controls ensuring compliance with relevant International Financial Reporting Standards;
- Conducting bank account and complex general ledger reconciliations, analysis and investigations;
- Ensuring all policies, procedures and processes are well documented and regularly review the control framework to ensure effective running of the function;
- Liaising directly with the Chief Operating Officer and the shareholders to administer the financial aspects of share sales including completing valuation calculations, financial modelling and maintaining complete and accurate accounting records;
- Taking a lead role in the ongoing development and automation of internal systems and controls;
- Managing the integration of new service lines into the existing control environment; and
- Managing a team responsible for billing, collections and payment of fees in order to maintain high levels of client service and satisfaction.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- CA/CPA/ACCA/CMA or equivalent required;
- A minimum of seven years’ relevant experience;
- Experience of working in a multi-jurisdictional professional services organisation is essential (experience in a corporate services business would be advantageous);
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
- Experience with and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards;
- Experience of Viewpoint, QuickBooks and working with Time and Billing software (experience with Aderant would be advantageous);
- Previous experience leading annual audits is essential.
