Overview

Aleisha Brown is counsel in our Litigation, Insolvency & Restructuring group in Hong Kong. Aleisha has experience in a broad range of commercial litigation matters, having acted for clients in relation to trust disputes, the winding up of offshore companies, limited partnerships and other structures, shareholder, investor and partnership disputes, schemes of arrangement, insurance claims and cross-border estate matters.

Aleisha is a STEP qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and advises individual and corporate clients including trustees, beneficiaries, protectors, and enforcers of STAR trusts on contentious and non-contentious trust matters. Aleisha has been listed as a Rising Leader in the Private Client Global Elite Directory 2021/22.

In 2020 and 2023, Aleisha was recognised by Legal 500 as a “key lawyer” and in 2019 was awarded a Worldwide Excellence Award for achieving the highest pass with distinction in the STEP Advanced Certificate in Cross-Border Estates (between 1 July and 31 December 2018).

Aleisha spent two years practising in the Cayman Islands before relocating to Hong Kong in 2018. After relocating to Hong Kong, Aleisha was seconded to a major international bank where she assisted the bank’s private wealth business on a range of matters relating to the establishment, administration and termination of trusts.

Work Highlights

  • Acting as lead counsel to the Plan Administrator of the Chapter 11 US Bankruptcy Code Plans of Administration for the Pacific Andes and China Fishery group of companies.
  • Acting for dissenting shareholders in fair value proceedings arising out of the take private transactions of 51job, Inc. (in the Cayman Islands) and Jardine Strategic Limited (in Bermuda).

(Prior to joining Campbells):

  • Acting for a corporate trustee of a Cayman Islands trust in relation to the trustee’s application for directions as to the ultimate beneficiary of the trust.
